Kicking into Shape: La Cueva Bears' Summer Prep for 6A Kickers

๐Ÿ“ La Cueva BearsยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To build power and accuracy for the upcoming season, La Cueva Bears' kickers will focus on the 'Box Drill'. This workout targets the core, leg strength, and flexibility. Set up 5 boxes or cones in a zig-zag pattern, 10 yards apart. Start at one end, kicking the ball through each box, focusing on proper footwork and follow-through. Begin with 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. As you progress, increase reps to 15. Coaching cues include 'drive through the box' and 'keep your eyes on the target'. This drill translates to game performance by improving kicker's ability to navigate tight spaces and maintain accuracy under pressure. Incorporate the Box Drill 2-3 times a week to see improvements in your kicker's game.
