Jordan Taylor Commits to SMU
Reed Raiders quarterback Jordan Taylor has committed to Southern Methodist University. The Class of 2026 signal-caller chose SMU over offers from UNLV and Utah State. Taylor's decision comes after a summer of training and evaluation with the Raiders. The 5A quarterback's commitment is a significant pickup for the Mustangs, who are looking to bolster their depth chart at the quarterback position. SMU's pro-style offense is a good fit for Taylor's skills, and he will have the opportunity to compete for playing time immediately. The university's strong academic program was also a factor in Taylor's decision. Taylor had previously committed to UNLV but reopened his recruitment in May. He will join the Mustangs in the fall of 2027. Taylor's commitment adds to SMU's growing reputation as a destination for top Nevada talent.
