Jaguars' Safety Cameron Taylor Aims to Balance Books and Blitzes
Desert Pines Jaguars safety Cameron Taylor has made a name for himself on the field, recording 12 tackles for loss in his junior year. But what's equally impressive is his ability to excel in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while serving as a varsity starter. As a rising senior in the 4A Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, Taylor's academic prowess has caught the attention of college scouts. 'He's one of the most intelligent players I've coached,' Jaguars head coach says. 'He understands the game, and it shows on Fridays.' Taylor's academic success has also earned him a spot on the NIAA's All-Academic Team. With college recruiters taking notice, Taylor's summer is focused on fine-tuning his skills at a elite football camp and reviewing highlight tapes to prepare for the upcoming season. Scouts are watching to see how Taylor balances his academic and athletic responsibilities, as well as his ability to make plays in the secondary.
