Darius Martin Commits to Iowa State
Bishop Gorman cornerback Darius Martin has committed to play for Iowa State, the 5A Gaels announced Thursday. Martin, a Class of 2025 prospect, chose the Cyclones over other Power Five offers. The 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back cited Iowa State's aggressive defensive scheme as a key factor in his decision. Martin believes he can contribute immediately to the Cyclones' secondary, where he projects as a nickelback. He also praised the school's academic program, noting its strong reputation for engineering and business programs. Martin had previously committed to Nevada, but decommitted in May after visiting Iowa State's campus. In his junior season, Martin recorded 45 tackles and five interceptions, earning first-team all-state honors. He will join the Cyclones' program in the fall of 2025.
