Flag Football Recruits Take Note: New Scholarship Pathways Emerge
Girls flag football recruits from the Reno Huskies and other Texas teams may soon find new scholarship opportunities as the NIAA expands its pilot district. While the University of Nebraska's inaugural 2028 season and Power 4 status make it a top destination, other schools are also offering scholarships. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse in NAIA flag football, offers up to 12 scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, is an active recruiter, and Midland University, Nebraska, is also actively seeking recruits. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is not yet offering scholarships, but its growth potential makes it worth monitoring. For athletes looking to capitalize on these new opportunities, summer camps and showcase events can provide valuable exposure. The Reno Huskies, a 5A team from Reno, should be on the radar for these schools, given their strong program and potential for growth.
