Long Island Lutheran Crusaders Flag Football Prospect Draws Interest from Nebraska, NAIA Programs
The Long Island Lutheran Crusaders, a perennial power in New York high school football, are generating buzz in the flag football community. Junior standout, Emily Johnson, has caught the attention of college coaches, including Liz and Katie Sowers of the University of Nebraska, who will launch their inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028. Johnson has also received interest from NAIA powerhouses Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, both of which offer up to 12 scholarships. Midland University, Nebraska, another active recruiter, has also shown interest in the Crusaders' star player. As Johnson prepares for the upcoming season, she should focus on highlighting her skills in highlight tapes and maintaining strong grades to remain eligible for these programs.
