Monroe Woodbury defensive end Darius Martin has committed to Texas Tech. The Class of 2027 standout chose the Red Raiders over offers from Syracuse and Temple. Martin, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect, is expected to contribute immediately to Texas Tech's 3-4 defense. The Crusaders' scheme aligns with the Red Raiders', who also employ a 3-4 base. Martin will have an opportunity to compete for a starting spot at defensive end, where the Red Raiders lost a key player to graduation. Texas Tech's academic program, which includes a strong engineering department, also played a factor in Martin's decision. He had previously committed to Syracuse in February but decommitted in June to explore other options.
