This summer, WRs at AA programs like Aquinas Institute Little Irish can improve their game-changing speed and agility with the 'L-Shape Weave' drill. Set up 5 cones in an L-shape, with the long side of the L facing the WR. Start with 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick footwork and sharp cuts. As the WR navigates the L, coaches should yell 'inside' and 'outside' to emphasize cutting inside or outside the cone. This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to quickly change direction and create separation from defenders. To increase difficulty, add a second L-shape or incorporate a defender to simulate game scenarios.
