This summer, WRs at AA programs like Monroe Woodbury Crusaders can improve their speed and agility with the 'L-Cone Weave' drill. Set up 5 cones in an L-shape, with the top cone 10 yards away from the starting point. Players start at the bottom cone, then weave through the L, focusing on quick footwork and change of direction. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'inside cut' and 'outside release' to emphasize proper footwork and body positioning. This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to create separation and accelerate past defenders. It also enhances their agility in tight spaces, making them more effective in the red zone.
