Crusader Rush: A Proven Drill for AA Running Backs
The Monroe Woodbury Crusaders' coaching staff has developed a high-intensity drill to help their running backs dominate on the gridiron. The 'Conveyor Belt' drill targets speed, agility, and decision-making. Set up 3-4 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Players start at one end, then weave through the cones, focusing on quick changes of direction. After each pass, they must accelerate to a designated 'cash' zone, where they'll make a decision to either 'cash in' (stop and change direction) or 'keep going' (continue through the course). Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaches should emphasize 'quick feet, quick hands' and 'eyes up, always scanning.' This drill translates to game performance by improving RBs' ability to read blocks, find seams, and make split-second decisions.
