Game-Changing Drill for CBs: 'The Shuffle'

๐Ÿ“ Monroe Woodbury CrusadersยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For cornerbacks at top AA programs like the Monroe Woodbury Crusaders, developing quick reactions and agility is key to success. Introducing 'The Shuffle,' a drill designed to improve CBs' ability to change direction and stay with receivers. Set up three cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Players start at the first cone, shuffling their feet to the second cone, then quickly pivoting to the third cone. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues: 'Keep your feet low and your weight forward,' and 'Shuffle, don't run.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing CBs to stay in phase with receivers, even when they're making sharp cuts. By incorporating 'The Shuffle' into your summer training, your CBs will be better equipped to handle the speed and agility of top AA opponents.
