Marcus Williams Commits to Texas Tech
Mentor Cardinals defensive end Marcus Williams has committed to Texas Tech University, the school announced Thursday. Williams, a Class of 2025 standout, chose the Red Raiders over other Power Five offers from Ohio State and Penn State. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound prospect is expected to fill a depth chart need at defensive end for the Red Raiders, who employ a 3-4 scheme. Williams' commitment also provides an opportunity for him to contribute immediately on the field. Off the field, Texas Tech's strong academic program and research opportunities align with Williams' academic goals. Williams previously decommitted from the University of Michigan in April, but ultimately chose Texas Tech for its better fit athletically and academically. Williams will join the Red Raiders for the 2025 season.
