Kicker Prep: Jenks Trojans' Summer Camp Focus

As the 2026 season approaches, 6A-I programs like the Jenks Trojans are fine-tuning their kicking game. One key drill to help K players prepare is the 'Bouncing Block' exercise. Set up a series of 3-4 cones, spaced 5 yards apart, in a zigzag pattern. K players will start at one end, wearing a weighted vest or ankle weights to simulate game-day pressure. On each rep, they must kick through the cones, focusing on balance and follow-through. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cue: 'Keep your eyes on the target, kick through the cone, and follow through with your plant foot.' This drill translates to game performance by improving K players' ability to stay balanced and focused under pressure, allowing them to make clutch kicks in high-stakes situations.
