DeShawn Smith Commits to Baylor

Stillwater Pioneers cornerback DeShawn Smith, a Class of 2026 prospect, has committed to Baylor University. Smith, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back, cited the Bears' aggressive defensive scheme as a major factor in his decision. He believes his speed and agility will be assets in Baylor's 4-2-5 setup. With the departure of several defensive backs from last season's roster, Smith sees an opportunity to contribute immediately. Academically, Smith was drawn to Baylor's strong engineering program, which aligns with his interests. Smith had previously considered Oklahoma State, but ultimately chose Baylor for its better fit athletically and academically. He plans to enroll early and participate in the Bears' winter conditioning program.
