Speed and Agility Drills for 6A-I S Players: Jenks Trojans Style

๐Ÿ“ Jenks TrojansยทFriday, July 31, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Jenks Trojans are known for their explosive speed and agility on the field. To help your S players develop these skills, try incorporating the 'Ladder Carioca Drill' into your summer training. This drill targets quick changes of direction and speed. Set up a ladder with 5-6 rungs on the ground. Have your S players start in a 3-point stance, then perform a carioca drill (side-to-side shuffling) through the ladder. Focus on quick feet and explosive acceleration. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coach your players to keep their feet low and inside, using their inside foot to push off and drive through the drill. This drill translates to game performance by improving your S players' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate out of cuts, making them more effective in pass coverage and pursuit.
