Bixby Spartans' Multisport Star Eyes Flag Football Scholarships
As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's Power 4 flag football program, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is generating buzz among multisport female athletes. For Bixby Spartans' standout athlete, Emily Wilson, the opportunity to pivot to flag football for college scholarships is a game-changer. Wilson, a decorated track and field athlete, has been actively recruited by Ottawa University, Kansas, which offers up to 12 NAIA flag football scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, have also expressed interest in Wilson's skills. UT Arlington's developing NCAA D1 program is also on her radar. To capitalize on these opportunities, Wilson is focusing on creating a highlight reel and attending summer camps at these institutions.
