Caleb Smith Commits to Baylor as Defensive End
Jesuit Crusaders senior defensive end Caleb Smith has committed to Baylor University for the Class of 2026. Smith, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound prospect, chose Baylor for its 3-4 defensive scheme, which aligns with his athletic abilities. He is expected to contribute immediately, given the Bears' projected depth chart at defensive end. Additionally, Baylor's academic program and research opportunities align with Smith's academic goals. Smith had previously committed to Oregon State before decommitting in April, citing a desire to explore other options. Baylor's strong tradition of producing NFL defensive linemen and its commitment to player development also played a factor in Smith's decision. With this commitment, Smith becomes the latest addition to Baylor's 2026 recruiting class, which is shaping up to be one of the top classes in the Big 12 Conference.
