West Linn OL DeShawn Young: A Study in Balance

๐Ÿ“ West Linn LionsยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

West Linn Lions senior DeShawn Young started 10 games at left tackle for the 6A program last season, allowing just one sack in 450 snaps. The Class of 2025 standout also maintained a 4.0 GPA, earning him a spot on the Oregon Academic All-State Team. Young's academic prowess is a testament to his discipline and time management skills, which he credits to his parents and a rigorous summer course schedule. Off the field, Young volunteers at a local food bank and participates in his school's mentorship program. On the field, he's a force to be reckoned with, using his quick feet and strong hands to block for the Lions' potent offense. Scouts are watching to see how Young adapts to the next level, particularly in terms of his ability to maintain his academic standards while competing at the collegiate level.
