FridayNightPulse: 'Crusader Crush' Drill for 6A Defensive Ends

๐Ÿ“ Jesuit CrusadersยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Jesuit High School, defensive ends are putting in the work this summer with the 'Crusader Crush' drill. This intense exercise targets the key attributes of a dominant defensive end: speed, strength, and agility. The drill consists of three sets of 10 reps: 1) A 20-yard sprint down the line, focusing on explosive acceleration; 2) A 10-yard shuttle run, emphasizing quick changes of direction; 3) A 5-yard box drill, where players must rapidly change direction and accelerate to the ball. Coaching cues include 'Fast feet, fast hands' and 'Crush the edge.' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time, agility, and the ability to quickly close the gap on the opponent.
