Jesuit Coach Signs Contract Extension Through 2029
Jesuit High School head football coach Jay Thurston has agreed to a contract extension through the 2029 season. Thurston led the Crusaders to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2024 and 2025, marking the program's first consecutive postseason berths since 2018. Jesuit, a 6A school based in Portland, boasts a 12-8 record over the past two seasons. The extension is seen as a vote of confidence in Thurston's ability to maintain the program's competitiveness in the highly competitive OSAA 6A Northwest Conference. With the 2026 recruiting class already generating buzz, Thurston's continued leadership is expected to play a significant role in attracting top talent to the program. The Crusaders are looking to build on their recent success and make a deeper playoff run in the coming seasons.
