Tight End Training: Jesuit Crusaders' 6A Prep Drill

๐Ÿ“ Jesuit CrusadersยทFriday, July 31, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Jesuit Crusaders' tight end coach is implementing a drill to improve his players' route running and blocking skills. The 'TE Tunnel Run' involves setting up five cones in a zig-zag pattern, 10 yards apart. Players start at one end of the tunnel and must run through, making sharp cuts and changes of direction. For sets of 3 reps, players focus on proper footwork and body positioning. On the fourth rep, the coach adds a defender to the tunnel, forcing the player to make a block or receive a pass. Coaching cues include 'keep your feet wide' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving agility and reaction time. It also simulates the chaos of a live game, allowing players to develop the skills needed to succeed in 6A competition.
