The OSAA flag football pilot district expansion in Texas is creating new scholarship pathways for female athletes. West Linn Lions flag football players are being targeted by top NAIA and NCAA D1 programs. Ottawa University, Kansas, is offering up to 12 scholarships, while Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are actively recruiting. The University of Nebraska is also on the radar, with coaches Liz and Katie Sowers leading the inaugural 2028 season. UT Arlington, a NCAA D1 program in development, is also monitoring the situation.
