Hawks' Summer Prep: The Power Shuttle Drill

๐Ÿ“ St. Joseph's Prep HawksยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks prepare for another successful season, their summer training regimen is a key factor in their success. One drill that stands out is the Power Shuttle, a high-intensity exercise that simulates the quick changes of direction and speed that occur on the field. The drill involves setting up two cones 5 yards apart, with a third cone 10 yards away. Players start at the first cone, then sprint to the second cone, before immediately changing direction and sprinting back to the first cone. This sequence is repeated for 3 sets of 10 reps. The Power Shuttle works by improving acceleration, deceleration, and change-of-direction speed, all essential skills for a wide receiver. By incorporating this drill into their summer prep, the Hawks are building the speed and agility needed to dominate on the field.
