Speed and Agility Drills for Coatesville Red Raiders S Players

๐Ÿ“ Coatesville Red RaidersยทThursday, July 9, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Coaches at 6A programs like Coatesville Red Raiders are always looking for ways to improve their S players' speed and agility. One effective drill to incorporate into your summer training is the 'Ladder Weave.' Set up a ladder on the field with the rungs spaced evenly apart. Have your S players start at one end of the ladder and weave through the rungs using a high-knees running technique. Focus on quick footwork and keeping their center of gravity low. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving the S players' ability to change direction quickly and maintain speed while making tackles. It also enhances their overall agility and reaction time.
