FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Tight End Power Drills for Coatesville Red Raiders
To dominate in the 6A PIAA, Coatesville Red Raiders tight ends need to be powerful and agile. One key drill to develop these skills is the 'TE Power Slant' drill. Set up a 10-yard line with a defender 5 yards off the line. The tight end starts in a 3-point stance, then explosively drives forward, using their legs to generate power. As they reach the defender, they quickly change direction, using their hips to generate torque. The goal is to beat the defender to the spot and make a tough catch. Run 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'Drive, change, catch!' and 'Use your legs, not just your arms!' This drill translates to game performance by teaching tight ends to use their power and agility to create separation and make tough catches.
