As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's Power 4 flag football program under coaches Liz and Katie Sowers is generating buzz among multisport female athletes in the Pittsburgh area. For Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings' standout athlete, Emily Wilson, the opportunity to pivot to flag football for college scholarship consideration is a game-changer. Wilson, a multi-sport athlete with a strong background in track and field, is now focusing on developing her flag football skills to potentially secure a scholarship at the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, or Keiser University, Florida. Both Ottawa University and Keiser University offer up to 12 scholarships, providing Wilson with concrete options to explore.
