CB Cameron Williams Commits to Houston
Lakewood Gators cornerback Cameron Williams has committed to the University of Houston for the Class of 2027. Williams, a 4A prospect, chose the Cougars over other Power Five offers from South Carolina and Georgia Tech. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback is expected to fit into Houston's aggressive defensive scheme, which features a mix of man-to-man and zone coverage. Williams will have an opportunity to compete for a starting spot in the secondary, potentially alongside returning All-Conference safety, Gervin Price. Academically, Williams is drawn to Houston's strong engineering program, which aligns with his interests in mechanical engineering. Williams previously held offers from South Carolina and Georgia Tech before decommitting in May to focus on his recruitment. He will join the Cougars in the summer of 2027, after completing his senior season at Lakewood High School.
