As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's flag football program is generating buzz among top prospects, including those from the Gaffney Indians. Coached by the renowned Sowers sisters, Liz and Katie, Nebraska's Power 4 program promises to be a game-changer in the NAIA landscape. For Gaffney girls, this means a new pathway to elite competition and potentially up to 12 scholarships at Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse in the NAIA. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also active recruiters. Prospective athletes can take concrete steps by attending summer camps and showcasing their skills to these programs. The UT Arlington program, while in development, is another option to monitor.
