Gaffney Indians Girls Flag Football Players Eye Big Opportunities in South

The SCHSL's growth of girls flag football in South Carolina has created a surge in interest among top programs, but for Texas athletes, a new landscape is emerging. The SCHSL's pilot district expansion is paving the way for more opportunities, particularly at the NAIA level. Ottawa University, Kansas, has long been a national powerhouse, offering up to 12 scholarships to talented flag football players. Keiser University, Florida, is also an active recruiter, while Midland University, Nebraska, has shown a commitment to developing its program. Meanwhile, the University of Nebraska is set to launch its inaugural 2028 season, with coaches Liz and Katie Sowers at the helm. As Texas athletes look to capitalize on these emerging pathways, the Gaffney Indians are poised to be a key feeder program, with several players already drawing attention from top programs.
