SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES EMERGE FOR GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN TEXAS
The SCHSL's pilot district expansion for girls flag football in Texas is creating new pathways for athletes to secure scholarships. The University of Nebraska, set to launch its inaugural 2028 season, is a Power 4 program led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers. Nebraska offers D1 scholarships. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse in NAIA's KCAC, awards up to 12 scholarships annually. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are active recruiters in the NAIA. UT Arlington, a developing D1 program, is expected to offer scholarships in the future. Dorman Cavaliers, a 5A powerhouse from South Carolina, can leverage these opportunities. Interested athletes should research and contact these schools directly to explore scholarship options.
