Stallion Strength: Power Positioning for 4A OL

๐Ÿ“ South Pointe StallionsยทThursday, July 16, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The South Pointe Stallions are gearing up for another dominant season in 4A football, and their linemen are putting in the work to be ready. One key drill for OL players to master is the 'Power Positioning' exercise. Set up a series of cones in a zig-zag pattern, with a defender's stance at the end. Players start in a three-point stance, then explode through the cones, maintaining a low center of gravity and keeping their eyes on the defender. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick footwork and powerful drive. Coaching cues include 'hands up, eyes up,' and 'drive through the defender.' This drill translates to game performance by improving OL's ability to read and react to defensive schemes, creating opportunities for big plays and dominating in the trenches.
