Williams Brings Speed to Lakewood Secondary
Lakewood Gators cornerback Carson Williams, a Class of 2025 transfer from out-of-state, made an immediate impact in his new 4A SCHSL home. In his first season with the Gators, Williams recorded 43 tackles, 12 pass breakups and 2 interceptions, earning him a starting role by mid-season. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Williams' speed and agility allowed him to cover receivers and stay with the ball. His ability to read the opposing quarterback's eyes and anticipate throws was a key factor in his success. Williams' transfer from a SCHSL 5A program in Texas has drawn attention from college scouts, who are looking to see how he adapts to the SCHSL's more physical style of play. As the Gators prepare for the upcoming season, scouts will be watching to see if Williams can maintain his level of performance and continue to develop his skills in the secondary.
