Roosevelt Rough Riders' Cade Johnson Commits to Kansas State
Roosevelt Rough Riders safety Cade Johnson has committed to Kansas State University, the school announced Friday. Johnson, a Class of 2026 standout, was a key contributor to the Rough Riders' 11AA success in his junior season. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back cited Kansas State's aggressive 3-3-5 scheme as a major factor in his decision, stating it allows him to utilize his speed and agility to their fullest potential. Johnson also praised the Wildcats' depth chart, noting the opportunity to compete for a starting role in the secondary. Additionally, he highlighted the university's strong academic programs, particularly the College of Arts and Sciences, which aligns with his academic interests. Johnson had previously committed to the University of Nebraska but decommitted in May after a coaching change. He will join the Wildcats in the fall of 2027.
