At Roosevelt Rough Riders, cornerbacks are gearing up for a dominant 11AA season. To prepare, we're focusing on the 'Shadow Shuffle' drill, a high-intensity exercise that translates to game-day performance. This drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: 1) Backpedal 5 yards, 2) Shuffle 3 yards to the left, 3) Plant and pivot to face the quarterback. Coaching cues include: 'Keep your eyes on the quarterback,' 'Drive through your back foot,' and 'Shuffle, don't slide.' This drill improves reaction time, agility, and footwork, allowing cornerbacks to stay in phase with receivers and make game-changing plays. Incorporate the 'Shadow Shuffle' into your pre-season practice to give your cornerbacks a competitive edge.
