Eagles' Eyes: A CB Drill for DII-AA Programs

๐Ÿ“ Brentwood Academy EaglesยทMonday, July 6, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

In preparation for the upcoming DII-AA season, Brentwood Academy's cornerbacks will be honing their skills with a specific drill designed to improve reaction time and footwork. The 'Eagle Shuffle' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players will line up 5 yards off the line of scrimmage, with a coach or trainer providing a pop pass to a receiver 10 yards downfield. The CB must quickly shuffle 3 yards to the left, then 2 yards to the right, and finally 5 yards back to the line of scrimmage to intercept the pass. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'eyes on the ball.' This drill translates to game performance by replicating the rapid changes in direction and speed that CBs face on the field.
