Whitehaven Tigers Girls Flag Football Athletes Eye New Scholarship Pathways Amid TSSAA Pilot Expansion
As the University Interscholastic League's (TSSAA) flag football pilot program expands to new districts in Texas, the Whitehaven Tigers are poised to capitalize on emerging scholarship opportunities. Inaugural NCAA Division 1 programs like the University of Nebraska, set to launch in 2028 under the guidance of coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will offer Power 5 competition. Meanwhile, NAIA powerhouses Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, have already begun recruiting top talent. Midland University, Nebraska, is also actively seeking skilled players. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA Division 1 program, is expected to join the fray. Whitehaven athletes can leverage TSSAA's expanded pilot to connect with these programs and take the first step toward securing a scholarship.
