Eagles' Edge: DeSoto DEs' Summer Prep Drill

๐Ÿ“ DeSoto EaglesยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The DeSoto Eagles' defensive end players are known for their speed, agility, and strength. One key drill in their summer prep is the 'Rapid Fire' rep scheme. This drill involves a series of 3 sets of 10 reps of explosive, 1-on-1 pass rush moves against a blocking sled. The DEs must quickly change direction, accelerate, and decelerate to simulate the fast-paced nature of a football game. The blocking sled provides resistance, helping to build strength and power. After each set, the DEs take a 2-minute rest to recover and recharge. This drill works because it mimics game-like situations, allowing the DEs to develop their reaction time, speed, and agility. By incorporating this drill into their summer prep, the DeSoto DEs are building the skills necessary to dominate on the field this season.
