Chaparrals' Summer Prep: The Power Position Drill

๐Ÿ“ Westlake ChaparralsยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Westlake Chaparrals prepare for another dominant season, their offensive linemen are putting in the work to ensure they're ready to take on the best of the best. One key drill in their summer prep is the Power Position Drill, which helps build strength, power, and technique. The drill involves players starting in a three-point stance, then exploding into a sprint, before quickly returning to the starting position. This drill is repeated for 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 2-minute rest in between sets. The Power Position Drill works by mimicking the explosive movements required in football, while also strengthening the core and legs. By incorporating this drill into their training, the Chaparrals' OL players are building the power and speed they need to dominate on the field.
