Bear Down: Aledo Bearcats' RB Drill for 5A Dominance

๐Ÿ“ Aledo BearcatsยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Aledo Bearcats' running backs will be putting in the work with a grueling drill designed to improve their explosiveness and agility. The 'Bear Down' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: a 10-yard sprint, followed by a 180-degree cut, and finishing with a 5-yard jump cut. Coaches will be yelling 'Bear Down' as the players explode out of the cut, emphasizing proper hip rotation and footwork. This drill translates to game performance by improving RBs' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate out of cuts, leaving defenders grasping at air. To take it to the next level, add a resistance band to the jump cut, increasing the challenge and simulating the force of a tackler.
