Marcus Thompson Commits to Houston High School Football Program

๐Ÿ“ Gunter TigersยทSunday, July 19, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Marcus Thompson, a Class of 2026 running back from Gunter High School, has committed to play football at Houston High School. Thompson, a three-star prospect, chose Houston due to the Cougars' high-powered spread offense, which aligns with his skill set. He also cited the school's depth chart opportunity at running back, where he will compete for a starting position. Additionally, Thompson was drawn to Houston's strong academic program, which offers a range of Advanced Placement courses and a 95% graduation rate. Thompson previously held a commitment to another school but reopened his recruitment in April, allowing him to explore other options. He is expected to contribute immediately to the Cougars' offense, which averaged 35 points per game last season.
