Elevate Your QB Game with the 'Read and React' Drill
As the 5A season approaches, quarterbacks at programs like Celina Bobcats are gearing up for a high-intensity campaign. To enhance their decision-making skills, we recommend incorporating the 'Read and React' drill into their pre-season training regimen. This drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 2-minute rest period between sets. The QB will start in the shotgun formation, with a defender lined up 5 yards off the line of scrimmage. The coach will call a series of plays, ranging from run to pass, and the QB must read the defender's alignment and react accordingly. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the defender' and 'stay calm under pressure.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the QB's ability to read defenses and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
