Katy Tigers Flag Football Athletes Eye New Scholarship Opportunities Amid UIL Pilot Expansion
As the UIL prepares to expand its flag football pilot district program, Katy Tigers athletes are capitalizing on the opportunity to secure scholarships at top programs. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, has announced its inaugural 2028 season and is actively recruiting top talent. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, offers up to 12 scholarships, while Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also actively recruiting. UT Arlington, though not yet offering scholarships, is poised to join the NCAA D1 ranks. Katy Tigers athletes interested in pursuing flag football scholarships should focus on building relationships with these programs and attending summer camps to increase their visibility.
