As the inaugural 2028 season for University of Nebraska's girls flag football program approaches, multisport female athletes from the Corner Canyon Chargers are taking notice. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are actively recruiting top talent, including those from 6A schools like Corner Canyon. For Chargers' athletes looking to leverage their skills in flag football for college opportunities, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, offer verified scholarship programs. Ottawa University, a national powerhouse, awards up to 12 scholarships annually. Keiser University, meanwhile, has a history of active recruitment. Midland University, Nebraska, also offers NAIA scholarships for flag football. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is expected to follow suit. Athletes interested in pursuing flag football scholarships should focus on developing their skills through summer camps and highlight tapes.
