Devon Young Commits to Texas Tech

๐Ÿ“ Bingham MinersยทSunday, July 5, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Bingham Miners kicker Devon Young, a Class of 2025 standout, has committed to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Young, a 6A specialist, chose the Big 12 program after considering several Division I options. The 6-foot-2 kicker is expected to contribute immediately to the Red Raiders' kicking game, which employs a pro-style approach that aligns with Young's skill set. With the departure of last season's starting kicker, Young sees an opportunity to secure a starting role early in his career. Texas Tech's strong academic program and research opportunities also factored into Young's decision. Young previously held a commitment to Utah State but decommitted in April to explore other options. He is considered one of the top kicking prospects in the state of Utah for the Class of 2025.
