Quarterback Quick Release Drill for Corner Canyon Chargers

๐Ÿ“ Corner Canyon ChargersยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Corner Canyon Chargers 6A football program is gearing up for the 2026 season with a focus on quick releases from the quarterback position. To achieve this, head coach will implement a drill that targets the QB's ability to release the ball in under 2 seconds. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps with a 30-second rest in between sets. The QB will stand 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage with a defender in their face. On the coach's signal, the QB must drop back and release the ball to a target 10 yards downfield. Coaching cues include 'quick eyes, quick feet, quick release.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing the QB to quickly read the defense and deliver the ball to their target, resulting in more completions and a higher level of efficiency.
