Oscar Smith Tigers Flag Football Recruits Target Inaugural Nebraska Scholarship Programs
As VHSL's flag football pilot district expansion creates new opportunities for Texas athletes, the Oscar Smith Tigers are eyeing verified scholarship pathways at the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska. The inaugural 2028 season at Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will offer a Power 4 program for female flag football players. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are established NAIA powerhouses with up to 12 scholarships available. Midland University, Nebraska, is an active recruiter, and UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is expected to offer scholarships in the near future. Tigers players can capitalize on these opportunities by attending summer camps and showcases, highlighting their skills on verified highlight tapes.
