Explosive Power for 5A RBs: The Box Jump Ladder Drill
This summer, Stone Bridge Bulldogs running backs can take their game to the next level with the Box Jump Ladder Drill. This high-intensity workout targets explosive power, agility, and quickness โ essential skills for success in the 5A division. To set up the drill, place a ladder on the field with 5-6 rungs and a box or bench at the end. Players start at the bottom of the ladder, then jump up to the box, step down, and immediately jump back up to the next rung. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Explode up to the box, drive through your heels, and land softly.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a RB's ability to rapidly change direction and accelerate through holes. It's a game-changer for Stone Bridge's Bulldogs this season.
