Rice Green Knights Break Ground on $3M Facility Upgrade

The Rice Green Knights football program in South Burlington, Vt., has officially broken ground on a $3 million facility upgrade ahead of the 2026 season. The D-II program has been on the rise, posting a 7-3 record in 2025. The upgrade will feature a state-of-the-art weight room, locker rooms and a turf field. The facility improvements are expected to attract top recruits from the region and give the Green Knights a competitive edge in the VPA's Division II. According to head coach, John Smith, the new facilities will provide the team with the necessary resources to take their game to the next level. The upgrade is expected to be completed by the start of the season, with the team hosting its first game on September 10.
