Middlebury Tigers' Multisport Athlete Eyes College Flag Football Opportunities
Middlebury Tigers' standout multisport athlete, Emily Wilson, is shifting her focus to flag football as she seeks college scholarship opportunities. With the inaugural 2028 season of NCAA Division 1 flag football at the University of Nebraska on the horizon, Wilson is taking concrete steps to position herself for a spot on the Cornhuskers. The program, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is expected to offer up to 12 scholarships. Wilson has already begun reaching out to Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse in NAIA flag football, which offers up to 12 scholarships. Additionally, she is exploring options at Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, both of which have active flag football recruiting programs. Wilson's decision to pivot to flag football is driven by the growing number of college programs offering scholarships in the sport. As the 2026 season approaches, Wilson is committed to honing her skills and increasing her visibility to secure a college flag football scholarship.
