As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska's Power 4 women's flag football program, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is attracting top multisport female athletes from the Pacific Northwest. Local standout, Emma Taylor, a three-time state champion with the O'Dea Fighting Irish, is one such athlete considering a pivot to flag football for college opportunity. Taylor has been in contact with Ottawa University, Kansas, which offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, have also expressed interest in the talented athlete. With UT Arlington's NCAA D1 program still in development, Taylor is focusing on verified scholarship pathways. As she prepares for the upcoming season, Emma Taylor is encouraged to research and reach out to these institutions to explore her flag football scholarship options.
